The Intricacies of Democracy in Latin America: 1980s to the Present
on tour in turin
For two years, 2023 and 2024, Thinking Inside the Box has toured the University of Turin in Italy.
In both years, posters from the collection have been exhibited at the university and integrated in other events hosted by our friend and collaborator Prof Sofia Venturoli, working together with Anna Bottesi e Ingrid D'Esposito.
The project was integrated into the modules Antropologia dell'America Latina, and Latin American Studies.
In 2023, Anna Grimaldi went with Lula Rappoport to open the exhibition and lecture about the project.
In September 2024, students Agne Reketyte and Reti Tauts, and TITB co-founder Anna Grimaldi returned to the University of Turin with a new curation, Revolutions of Latin America, to be launched as part of a conference titled The Intricacies of Democracy in Latin America: 1980s to the Present.
The event brought together international scholars and students of Latin American Studies, allowing us to continue expanding the reach and dimensions of Thinking Inside the Box.
Dr Vinicius Mariano de Carvalho also lectured to the Latin American Masters Programme at Torino University.
